Jeanne Ives Will Return Your Home To You
Ives Rolls Out Property Tax Reform Plan

 

January 12, 2018 - Among Governor Rauner's many betrayals, was the fact that he took no significant action on one of the state's most pressing issues: Property Taxes. Today, State Representative Jeanne Ives, a conservative reform Republican for Governor, rolled out her plan to roll back property taxes.

In a 2014 campaign ad, Bruce Rauner blasted Pat Quinn for the state's high property tax rates, saying ‘He just doesn’t get it.’ Three years later, according to the Wall Street Journal, ‘Property taxes in Cook County and Chicago’s 'collar' counties are the highest in the country outside of California and the Northeast." 

When the Governor is not in charge, people are taxed out of their homes. 

As Governor, Jeanne Ives will return your home to you by instituting a hard cap on property taxes as a percentage of home value. This will return home value that has been stolen by the highest property taxes in the nation to property owners.
