School students discover magic of science
Will
never look at science the same way
Schilling School students will never look at science the same way.
On Feb. 1, students in grades 1-4 were treated to a special assembly by
Mobile Ed Productions.
Brought to the school by the Schilling School Parent Teacher
Organization (PTO), The Magic of Science assembly
touched on:

Chemistry experiments
students can recreate at home

Tricks to solving math
problems
●
Magnetism
●
Physics
●
Optical illusions
●
How all of the sciences can
be made to look like magic
“It looks like magic, but it’s all science,” presenter John Johnson told
students. “And I’m going to tell you exactly how they’re done.”
Among his tricks were making a ping pong ball stick to his nose (using
the magic of rubber cement) and creating fake snow from water and sodium
polyacrylate (a polymer found in diapers).
“Everything performed has a scientific principle behind it,” he
explained.
