Republican Candidate for Congress Jim Marter is urging Second Amendment supporters to contact the NRA to voice concerns over gun related bans

Jim Marter has earned an “A” 100% NRA Candidate rating. He is 100% committed to protecting our 2nd Amendment, “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.” These words are crystal clear, it is the 2nd Amendment which protects the 1st Amendment and all of our Constitutional rights. Apparently out of touch with reality, Rep. Kinzinger told #FakeNews MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Thursday, March 1 that “raising the age to 21 and fixing the background check system, both would have fixed Texas and Florida” shootings.
We are wondering if Representative Kinzinger or any of his friends ever had a drink before the age of 21, even though every state has a 21 drinking age? We are also wondering if he thinks the age to vote or join the military should be raised to 21?
Statistics show that 11 mass shootings have been committed by disturbed young men, 21 and younger but only two of those were using a rifle and only one was purchased legally, according to the information collected by Everytown for Gun Safety.
Rep. Kinzinger sent his reactionary letter in October 2017 to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) urging the ban of bump stocks, something the head of the NRA has publicly said he would not support.
According to Breitbart on Feb. 7, 2018, the BATFE was taking public comment on their intention to change the definition of “machinegun” to include a firearm that is not a “machinegun.” This would allow them to use the National Firearms Act (1934) to regulate machineguns and non-machine guns in the same way, which would then treat simple firearm accessories and actual firearm conversion devices the same way.
About 85% of respondents opposed the ATF proposal to change the definition of machinegun. The Trace examined 32,000 comments and found only 13% favored the regulatory gun control.
The number of School Shootings has skyrocketed in America since “The Gun-free School Zones Act of 1990” was introduced by Democrat Senator Joe Biden, signed into law by President George H.W. Bush. Best intentions have a way of playing out into the worst tragedies.
Concerned citizens should call their schools and local officials to find out what their schools, its board members, principles, superintendents, local police and county police are doing to protect their kids in school. “We have government buildings, airports, banks, and all kinds of businesses and even sporting event venues, well protected with ARMED security. Our kids should be protected, now!” said Marter, “Washington, D.C. can’t solve this problem and foolishly hoping gun bans will, is a recipe for continued tragedies.”
Marter supports armed security in K-12 public schools to protect students in the district, not limited to, and including trained and certified Teachers and other school staff personnel, or hired police officers. “The reality is, action needs to be taken immediately, proactively, to protect our children from sick maniacs using gun-free zone schools as a preferred choice to conduct mass murder.” – Jim Marter
