NRA’s Loesch: ‘Media love mass shootings’ (video)

Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference Thursday, National Rifle Association spokeswoman Dana Loesch warned against relying on the government for safety and explained why the media love mass shootings.
Loesch, who on Wednesday attended CNN’s town hall concerning the tragic shooting in Florida, said the media’s anti 2nd Amendment rhetoric is making the left increasingly vehement in calling for harsher gun control.
“I want to make this super obvious point,” Loesch said. “The government has proven that they cannot keep you safe. And yet, some people want all of us to disarm. You heard that town hall last night. They cheered the confiscation of firearms. And it was over 5,000 people.”
She added that angry leftists threatened her for delivering a pro-2nd Amendment message at the event.
“I had to have a security detail to get out. I wouldn’t be able to exit that if I didn’t have a private security detail.,” Loesch said. “There were people rushing the stage and screaming burn her. And I came there to talk solutions and I still am going to continue that conversation on solutions as the NRA has been doing since before I was alive.”
Addressing the members of the mainstream media in attendance at CPAC directly, Loesch criticized the outlets for providing wall to wall coverage of mass shootings while largely ignoring the constant bloodshed occurring in violent cities like Chicago.
“I’m not saying you love the tragedy, but I am saying that you love the ratings,” she said. “Crying white mothers are ratings gold to you and many of the legacy media in the back.
“And notice I said crying white mothers,” Loesch added. “Because there are thousands of grieving black mothers in Chicago every weekend– and you don’t see town halls for them, do you?”
