Trump’s Plan to Cut Budget by 5% Meets With Skepticism

From the Daily Signal
With the federal budget deficit reaching $779 billion, President Donald Trump is asking Cabinet members to cut spending in their departments by 5 percent next fiscal year.
Because such trimming is hardly slashing the total budget, however, some experts question whether that even will make a difference in fiscal 2020, which will begin Oct. 1, 2019.
The national debt is more than $21 trillion.
“We’re going to ask every Cabinet secretary to cut 5 percent for next year,” Trump said Wednesday during a Cabinet meeting.
The president, asked about increases in defense spending, said: “The military was falling apart, it was depleted, it was in very bad shape.”
Congress approved an increase in the military budget to $716 billion for fiscal 2019, but there will be a cut, Trump said, “probably” to $700 billion, for fiscal 2020.
Given the $779 billion budget deficit, and a 13 percent increase in discretionary spending from 2017 to 2018, each department should be able to cut 5 percent, said Justin Bogie, senior policy analyst in fiscal affairs for The Heritage Foundation.
Federal spending is also set to increase by more than 3 percent from 2018 to 2019. Congress and federal agencies should adhere to the 2011 Budget Control Act, which limits the growth in spending, Bogie said.
“Congress should stick to the current discretionary budget caps and, moving forward, should look to implement a cap on all spending,” Bogie told The Daily Signal. “We support defense spending to the level needed. But if you increase it, you should find a way to pay for it through cuts elsewhere.”
The president acknowledged that some fiscal hawks likely won’t believe a 5 percent cut is enough.
“Some will say I can do much more than 5 [percent],” Trump said during the Cabinet meeting, but added: “It will get rid of the fat, get rid of the waste. It’ll have a huge impact.”
Such a cut is achievable, since government spending increased by 16 percent in the previous two years, said Maya MacGuineas, president of the nonprofit Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget.
“We should be able to scale back one-third of that, easily,” MacGuineas said in a prepared statement. “A 5 percent cut will actually cost money, though, since current law brings back budget caps next year that equal a 10 percent cut. So going with 5 percent over 10 percent means a $63 billion deficit increase just for a single year.”
She added:
Something will have to give if we stay on our current track. With trillion-dollar deficits returning in as soon as a year—indefinitely—5 percent budget cuts to a small portion of the budget will pale in comparison to what will be needed in 15 years.
Thoughtful reforms phased in now over time will be much better for the American people and economic growth.
Presidential budget proposals rarely are enacted by Congress.
Some Cabinet members previously ran large organizations and will have some expertise in managing waste, said Tom Schatz, president of the nonprofit Citizens Against Government Waste.
“This is better than nothing, but we’d like to see more,” Schatz told The Daily Signal. “It’s achievable. We’d rather see a 10 percent cut.”
“If this was the Trump Organization,” Schatz said of the president, “he could say he wants a 10 percent cut and employees would come back with 15 percent. But given how government works, 5 percent is a good start.”

Conformity and control

Conformity and control
By Bob Livingston
Every government in history has sought conformity and control. The chief weapon governments use to achieve them is psychological warfare.

The more perfect psychological warfare, the more perfect is conformity and control. These two terms — conformity and control — are self-enforcing. That is, where there is conformity, there is control. Where there is control, there is conformity. The greater the one, the greater the other.

We are the most conditioned and programmed beings the world has ever known. Not only are our thoughts and attitudes continually being shaped and molded, our very awareness of the whole design has been erased. Few question anything.

One important thought here: A person's IQ or education level has absolutely nothing to do with his perception of reality. Higher education is higher brainwashing. Sometimes it seems that the more education, the bigger the fool.

I myself went through four years of college, worked on a master's degree and attended law school. What a pity! It took valuable time and money for me to pay for the brainwash. It took years to get over it. I had to completely erase this education foolishness before I could begin to have half sense. My inquiring attitude and much, much reading helped me escape the programmed maze that entrapped me. The many conflicts and confusion were emotionally and financially costly.

The basis of mass mind control is the use of carefully chosen words that have been twisted and distorted to manipulate the public mind. Whole volumes could be written about this. Few escape this psychological warfare. Words are created and repeated. This repetitiveness expands the collective psyche to further accept and repeat.

Edward L. Bernays, the nephew of Sigmund Freud, is the father of manipulative propaganda in America. He says that mass persuasion and mass hypnosis is the fundamental of so-called democracy.

This is from Bernays book, Propaganda:

"Those who manipulate the unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. We are governed, our minds molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested largely by men we have never heard of.

"In almost every act of our lives, whether in the sphere of politics or business or in our social conduct or our ethical thinking, we are dominated by the relatively small number of persons who understand the mental processes and social patterns of the masses. It is they who pull the wires that control the public mind."

The public mind is controlled once a person believes a "fact" long enough. He or she can no longer ponder or contemplate information or a question that challenges the "established" fact. The mind simply cannot process information that conflicts with previously accepted data. Prior conditioning is difficult to challenge.

The same is true if we believe a lie long enough. We cannot ponder or contemplate information that challenges the lie, even if the lie is lethal, such as "fluoride prevents cavities."

Psychologists call this quirk of human nature cognitive dissonance. It means the rejection of information not in harmony with previous beliefs.

We are now being told that certain thoughts and ideas are "hate speech" and therefore out of bounds and must be eliminated. The internet is being scrubbed of any thought that deviates outside the norm if it can be labeled as "hate speech," which is of course a nebulous, meaningless and undefinable term. It's being done with the endorsement of politicians and leftist media pundits.

This is thought/mind control on a mass scale, bigger than Nazi book burnings. It is the electronic "memory hole" in action. Big Brother would feel right at home.

Trump addressing America as the piggy bank of the world

Steve Balich Editors Note: To be logical is considered crazy by the anti-Trump Socialist Democrats, So called Moderate Democrats, Establishment Republicans, and Globalist from all groups. The media is the useful idot for all of these anti-Trumper's. I don't see how anyone can say we have had fair trade and Trump is creating a trade war. I guess they deny the facts. We have been on the loosing side of a trade war for a long time. Thank God Trump is fixing it.

When you look at this graph,  you might get a good idea of where President Trump is coming from!!!!
Now... lets have a show of hands..... how many of you think the United States of America has been getting screwed for the last 25 years??
