On paper Socialism looks great, but in real life it’s a much, much different unpleasant story.

Hi, my name is Adelina and I was born in Romania and I still live in the State I arrived 31 years ago, the now” not so famous anymore” once great state of California.
I’m beyond excited to have come across this forum. This is my story....

In communist Romania we were lied to, brainwashed and forced to become members of their party. There was no free speech. We had NO voice.
Well sadly, I am reliving those times in today’s America.
I actually feel like I’m being “silenced”, my friends.
There’s no more free speech....it’s either you are with the Democratic Party or if not, you’re an enemy of the humanity, you’re being ridiculed, you’re being called names, so on and so on.
So much vitriol from the left that now it’s becoming borderline dangerous for the rest of us that don’t believe in their ideology. When a government official is instigating crowds to harass people that have different views other than theirs.....I can only think of my youth in communist Romania!

I legally immigrated to this great country back in ‘87, I was 18 years old. My family, parents 1 sibling and myself have waited 6 years for the legal process to take its course. I left my boyfriend at the time behind. He was put in a forced labor camp because he had ties to me for leaving Romania. I had to wait 4 years for him to enter the States legally as well. We were apart for 4 years. America DOES have an immigration system, it may have flaws, but if you follow the rules, everything goes smoothly. There maybe many years, but it can definitely happen. We were immediately given our green cards and 2 weeks later I started to work. The family member that sponsored us had to sign an affidavit making sure that his family would not apply for welfare or government benefits. We were not the type to ask to begin with, but I wanted to mention it.

So excuse me if I have a problem with ILLEGAL immigration, term that is constantly and conveniently left out!
America can NO LONGER afford to accept and sustain the entire world. American citizens are being neglected, especially our Veterans that have fought for our freedoms. Very sad and disheartening.

At that young age I quickly realized what it means to have freedom, that you are free to strive for and accomplish anything you want without someone controlling your life. I couldn’t wait to become a citizen of this country.
To the date, 5 years after I first set foot in this great country, I submitted my Citizenship papers. I couldn’t wait to become one. I was sworn in 8 months later and as soon as I got out from the building, they had voter registration booths.
I turned to the Democrat booth and I actually said: No thank you!
Having been raised in a communist regime, there was NO WAY I would’ve register Democrat. No ifs, ands or buts.

To my Liberal friends, be careful what you wish for. Socialism is NOT all what you think it is. On paper it looks great, but in real life it’s a much, much different unpleasant story.
