Fake News Threatens Our Nation

COMMENTARY BY

President Donald Trump was right to tweet out: “There is great anger in our Country caused in part by inaccurate, and even fraudulent reporting of the news. The Fake News Media, the true enemy of the people, must stop the open & obvious hostility & report the news honestly and fairly. That will do much to put out the flame…”
He’s right.
I open to the opinion section of The Washington Post and find the following headlines:
“Trump has stoked the fears of the Bowerses (the Pittsburgh synagogue murderer) among us.”
“Fox News and the rest of the right-wing media can’t escape responsibility.”
“Trump’s America is not a safe place for Jews.”
All on one opinion page in one day.
As I wrote recently, we learned in the confirmation hearing of Judge Brett Kavanaugh that Democrats are no longer pretending to care about facts. An outstanding American was almost destroyed by uncorroborated allegations.
I was in Jerusalem earlier this year and participated in ceremonies in which the Embassy of the United States was moved to Israel’s capital, Jerusalem.
A sense of awe, tied to the history of the moment and the bold leadership of Trump, permeated the proceedings. Certainly no one in attendance would question that the Jewish people have no greater friend than this president, who did what no other American president had the courage and conviction to do.
In June 2015, a year and half before the Trump presidency, a young white supremacist entered a black church in Charleston, South Carolina, and murdered nine black Christians.
“It is unfathomable that somebody in today’s society could walk into a church while people are having a prayer meeting and take their lives,” said Charleston’s police chief.
Then-South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley provided extraordinary leadership following the incident, sharing her genuine grief with South Carolinians and all Americans. She took the bold step as a Republican governor to remove the Confederate flag from the grounds of South Carolina’s Capitol.
Haley understood that the best way to fight evil is by identifying evil for what it is and fighting it not with politics but with virtue.
For the last two years, Haley has demonstrated similar leadership by principle as Trump’s United Nations ambassador.
A story on CNN Wire, reported nine days before Election Day, leads with the headline: “‘Voting while black’: How activists are racing to create a midterm ‘black wave.'”
According to the report, “A growing network of African-American political groups are laboring to build a lasting political clout for African-Americans, especially in the South, where more than half of nation’s black residents live.”
The article focuses on three black Democrats running for governorships in Georgia, Florida, and Maryland.
You would think that being black and political meant only electing far-left, progressive Democrats. Totally ignored are exciting and potentially paradigm-changing elections involving black Republicans.
John James, a black Republican running for the Senate in Michigan against three-term liberal Democrat Debbie Stabenow, doesn’t exist for these CNN writers. James is a conservative Christian, a West Point graduate who flew Apache helicopters in Iraq, and he now runs his family business in Detroit.
James is real news and hence a non-item for the “fake news” dealers whose interest is peddling progressivism, not truth.
Differences of opinion are healthy and vital in a free country. National unity and mutual respect are not threatened by differences of opinion but by the destruction of our first principles that guarantee every American equal protection of life, liberty, and property.
Politics of identity, special interests, or moral relativism rely on feeding the vulnerable fake news rather than truth. Our national health and prosperity are endangered when the truth is lost to politics.
This is what voters should be thinking about between now and Nov. 6.

Planning for the Invasion

Planning for the Invasion

Originally published at Fox News   By Newt gingrich
Planning for the Invasion
As of Tuesday, the caravan of now more than 7,000 Central American invaders trekking through Mexico toward the United States was roughly 1,000 miles from the nearest point of entry. A second group of roughly 1,000 is also seeking to join them.
They may still be weeks away from our border, but this leaves little time for President Trump, Congress, and all Americans who care about our national sovereignty and the rule of law to solve three incredibly pressing challenges. I discussed these on Monday on Facebook.
First, we must determine – and do – what we can right now to end this invasion before it reaches our doorstep. Second, we must develop and execute a cohesive, efficient, effective plan for preventing these invaders from illegally crossing our border and swiftly deporting those who are successful. Finally, we must fix the debilitatingly stupid amalgam of immigration laws, policies, and court rulings that enable and encourage migrants to band together and stage these types of illegal invasions.
Should we fail to solve any of these problems, our already dysfunctional immigration system will be further crippled, our relationships with Mexico and our Central American neighbors could be severely damaged, our border will be overwhelmed by droves of new migrants, and America will become significantly less safe.
If this caravan is allowed to get through, the next caravan will be even bigger – and the one following that will be enormous. According the Gallup World Poll, 29 percent of people who want to migrate from Latin America and the Caribbean want to make the United States their permanent homes. That is 37 million people who want to come here. We must demand and ensure that they do so legally.
The clearest answer to alleviating this issue while the caravan is still in Mexico, is for Mexico to stop it. President Trump has already made clear that securing the border is more important than our recent trade agreement with our southern neighbor, and Mexico should take him seriously. Many of the members of this caravan forced their way through the Guatemala-Mexico border. They are already in violation of Mexican law, and Mexican law enforcement should take action.
Furthermore, we should not underestimate the degree to which human traffickers and transnational criminal gangs, such as MS-13 and other cartels, are involved with this invasion force. Mexican authorities should also be seeking to weed these elements out of this migrant army – and dealing with those who may have legitimate asylum claims through the Mexican system.
Our neighbors must understand that while they did not assertively deal with this problem at their southern border, they will own the problem if it gets to their northern border.
This relates to what we must do if or when the caravan is allowed to arrive at the U.S. border.
President Trump should instruct the Attorney General to issue a clarification to define the qualifications for asylum. Asylum is meant to provide protection for people who are fleeing real persecution and human rights abuses, such as genocide. Simply being from a poor country that lacks opportunities does not qualify someone for asylum.
We already have approximately 750,000 backlogged asylum cases, and some of those cases date back to 2014. These invaders should be screened (preferably in Mexico) so they never enter the U.S. system.
The federal government should also immediately begin coordinating with local and state governments along the border to develop an organized, completely nonviolent system that can deter these migrants from crossing into the United States and process and return those who do within a matter of days – not weeks, months, or years. I know Texas already works with federal officials to prepare for mass migration events. Other border states should follow suit (if they don’t already) and begin preparing now for this caravan’s potential arrival.
If we are serious about preventing this caravan invasion from being imitated, we must overwhelm them, stop them in their tracks, and quickly return them to their home countries. By my estimate, we should have four to five U.S. forces for every member of the caravan. If we want to protect our country, our border, and our rule of law, we must mobilize so much force that we don’t have to use it.
The news media should be allowed to cover the preparation and the overwhelming response to the caravan, so the members of the caravan – and every potential caravanner across Central and South America – will see that their plan will not work.
These first two problems are urgent and difficult. The third problem is just as urgent – but it is an order of magnitude more challenging. That is figuring out how we must fix our failing immigration system so that this type of situation doesn’t arise again.
Our immigration system has been completely broken by Democrat-backed laws that make it easier for immigrants to flood our system and stay in our country while their cases take years to process. It has been further hobbled by activist judicial rulings that have tied the hands of border enforcement officials and prevented them from keeping track of those who cross the border illegally.
Once we deal with the immediate problem of this invasion caravan, Republicans and the White House must work to fix our broken immigration system once and for all.

Judge Accuses State Department of Making ‘False Statements’ on Clinton Emails

From the Daily Signal  by

Kevin Mooney
State Department officials opposed to disclosing more of Hillary Clinton’s emails as secretary of state made “false statements” and filed “false affidavits” in a related lawsuit, a federal judge said during a court hearing in Washington earlier this month.
U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth ordered the hearing after a legal watchdog asked the court to obtain testimony under oath from current and former State Department officials, including Clinton and former aide Cheryl Mills.
If Lamberth agrees with Judicial Watch, Clinton and others would have to testify under oath and answer questions about how the department processed the organization’s Freedom of Information Act requests, and how it conducted its search for emails Clinton sent and received over a private email server.
Mills was Clinton’s chief of staff and counselor when she was secretary of state from Jan. 21, 2009, to Jan. 31, 2013, and worked on her presidential campaigns.
The State Department had asked Lamberth to issue a summary judgment that would have closed the case and ended any more inquiries into Clinton emails that have not been disclosed.
The judge refused and explained during the Oct. 12 hearing why he had granted limited discovery of relevant facts in March 2016:
The case started with a motion for summary judgment here and which I denied and allowed limited discovery, because it was clear to me that at the time that I ruled initially that false statements were made to me by career State Department officials. And it became more clear through discovery that the information that I was provided was clearly false regarding the adequacy of the search and this–what we now know turned out to be the secretary’s email system.
I don’t know the details of what kind of IG [inspector general] inquiry there was into why these career officials at the State Department would have filed false affidavits with me. I don’t know the details of why the Justice Department lawyers did not know false affidavits were being filed with me. But I was very relieved that I did not accept them, and that I allowed limited discovery into what had happened.
The full transcript of the hearing is available here.
Judicial Watch, a Washington-based nonprofit that describes itself as promoting “integrity, transparency, and accountability in government,” filed its FOIA lawsuit in July 2014 after the State Department declined to respond to a May 2014 request in which Judicial Watch asked for:
Copies of any updates and/or talking points given to [U.N.] Ambassador [Susan] Rice by the White House or any federal agency concerning, regarding, or related to the September 11, 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
Any and all records or communications concerning, regarding, or relating to talking points or updates on the Benghazi attack given to Ambassador Rice by the White House or any federal agency.
Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and three other Americansdied in the terrorist attacks on the consulate and a nearby CIA annex in Benghazi.
This same Judicial Watch lawsuit seeking information about the Benghazi attacks led to the discovery in 2015 of the private email server Clinton used while conducting official business as secretary of state.
The FBI uncovered 72,000 documents as part of its 2016 investigation into Clinton’s use of the private email server, which became an issue in the Democratic nominee’s presidential race with Republican nominee Donald Trump.
Judicial Watch obtained documents containing Clinton emails in response to a FOIA lawsuit it filed May 6, 2015, after the State Department did not respond to an earlier request.
U.S. District Judge James E. Boasberg ordered the State Department to complete processing of the remaining Clinton documents by Sept. 28.
A State Department spokesperson told The Daily Signal that “all remaining” nonexempt records were posted to the department’s website Oct. 1 and 4 in compliance with court orders.
But Judicial Watch continues to press for additional disclosure of Clinton emails, and State Department officials continue to resist that.
“President Trump should ask why his State Department is still refusing to answer basic questions about the Clinton email scandal,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in an Oct. 17 press release. “Hillary Clinton’s and the State Department’s email coverup abused the FOIA, the courts, and the American people’s right to know.”
During an earlier hearing Oct. 11 in U.S. District Court, the watchdog group reported on the estimated number of Clinton documents the State Department continues to withhold.
Lamberth engaged in a testy exchange with Robert Prince, the Department of Justice lawyer representing State Department officials. The judge accused State Department officials of “doublespeak” and told Prince that he was playing the same “word games” as Clinton:
Lamberth: The State Department told me that it had produced all the records when it moved for summary judgment and you filed that motion. That was not true when that motion was filed.
Prince: At that time, we had produced all—
Lamberth: It was not true.
Prince: Yes, it was—well, Your Honor, it might be that our search could be found to be inadequate, but that declaration was absolutely true.
Lamberth: It was not true. It was a lie.
Prince: It was not a lie, Your Honor.
Lamberth: What—that’s doublespeak …
Prince: There’s strong precedent saying that items not in State’s possession do not need to be searched.
Lamberth: And that’s because the secretary [of state] was doing this on a private server? So it wasn’t in State’s possession?
Prince: No—
Lamberth: So you’re playing the same word game she played?
Prince: Absolutely not, Your Honor. I am not playing that.
In the hearing, Lamberth also said he was “dumbfounded” to learn in a report from the Department of Justice’s inspector general that Mills, Clinton’s former chief of staff, was granted immunity and permitted to accompany Clinton to an FBI interview about her using the private email server to conduct official business.
“I had myself found that Cheryl Mills had committed perjury and lied under oath in a published opinion I had issued in a Judicial Watch case where I found her unworthy of belief,” Lamberth said. “And I was quite shocked to find out she had been given immunity in—by the Justice Department in the Hillary Clinton email case.”
“So I did not know that until I read the IG report and learned that, and that she had accompanied the secretary to her interview,” the judge said.
The Daily Signal requested comment from the State Department and Justice Department about the Oct. 12 hearing and Lamberth’s accusations.
In an email message, a State Department spokesperson told The Daily signal on background that the agency can’t comment on ongoing litigation. The Justice Department also declined to comment.
In a related development, Judicial Watch obtained additional documents in response to a September 2018 Freedom of Information Act lawsuit.
The group said these documents show that “a significant number” of the 340,000 emails found on the laptop of former Rep. Anthony Weiner, D-N.Y., were between Clinton and her longtime aide, Huma Abedin. Weiner is Abedin’s estranged husband.

100 ISIS Terrorists Caught in Guatemala as Central American Caravan Heads to U.S.

100 ISIS Terrorists Caught in Guatemala as Central American Caravan Heads to U.S.

From Judicial Watch

In a startling revelation, Guatemala’s president announced in the country’s largest newspaper that nearly 100 ISIS terrorists have been apprehended in the impoverished Central American nation. Why should Americans care about this?

A caravan of Central American migrants is making its way north. Let’s not forget that Guatemala is one of the countries that bombarded the U.S. with illegal immigrant minors under Barack Obama’s open border free-for-all. They came in droves from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala through the Mexican border and for years Uncle Sam rolled out the welcome mat offering housing, food, medical treatment and a free education

A terrorist could have easily slipped in considering the minors, coined Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC), were not properly vetted and some turned out to be violent gangbangers who went on to commit heinous crimes in their adopted land of opportunity. In fact, the nation’s most violent street gang, Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13), was energized by the barrage of UACs.

The Texas Department of Public Safety even issued a report documenting how the MS-13 emerged as a top tier gang in the state thanks to the influx of illegal alien gang members that came with the UACs. At the time more than 60,000 UACs—many with criminal histories—had stormed into the U.S. in a matter of months. Tens of thousands more eventually made it north.

Guatemala has long been known as a major smuggling corridor for foreigners from African and Asian countries making their way into the U.S. Last year Guatemala’s largest paper, Prensa Libra, published an in-depth piece on the inner workings of an international human smuggling network that moves migrants from Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal and Bangladesh to the U.S. Individuals are sent to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates then flown to Brazil before heading to Colombia.

Once in South America, the migrants are transported to Panama before moving on to Costa Rica then a central point on Guatemala. One Spanish news report refers to Guatemala as a human smuggling paradise because it’s so easy to get fake passports. A few years ago, the head of Guatemala’s passport division got arrested for selling fake passports to a group of Colombians, according to a government announcement.

All this makes ISIS terrorists operating in Guatemala incredibly alarming. President Jimmy Morales confirmed it during a recent security conference attended by Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo as well as the presidents of Honduras and El Salvador and other Latin American dignitaries.

Morales said that his administration has captured “close to 100 persons completely involved with terrorists, with ISIS and we have not only detained them within our territory, but they have been deported to their country of origin.” Several of the terrorists were Syrians caught with fake documents, according to Guatemala’s head of intelligence. At the same event, President Morales also revealed that Guatemalan authorities captured more than 1,000 gangbangers, including members of the MS-13.

Many more probably make it into the U.S. via the Mexican border and a lot of them get released inside the country. In fact, Border Patrol agents in Texas have been ordered to release illegal immigrants caught entering through Mexico because detentions facilities have no bed space, according to a news report.

Earlier this year Judicial Watch exposed a secret program—started by Obama and continued by Trump— that quietly relocates illegal immigrants to different parts of the country on commercial flights. Years earlier Judicial Watch uncovered a similar DHS initiative that transported illegal immigrants from the Mexican border to Phoenix and released them without proper processing.

The government classified them as Other Than Mexican (OTM) and transferred them 116 miles north from Tucson to a Phoenix bus station where they went their separate way. The OTMs were from Honduras, Colombia, El Salvador and Guatemala and a security company contracted by the U.S. government drove the OTMs from the Border Patrol’s Tucson Sector where they were in custody to Phoenix. Some could have been ISIS operatives.

“Gosnell: America’s Biggest Serial Killer”

Left-wing media, entertainment elites panic to censor new abortion film “Gosnell: America’s Biggest Serial Killer”

Image: Left-wing media, entertainment elites panic to censor new abortion film “Gosnell: America’s Biggest Serial Killer”
(Natural News) In May 2013, following a two-month trial and two weeks of deliberation, a jury convicted Philadelphia abortionist Dr. Kermit Gosnell on multiple counts of first-degree murder for killing three babies born alive at his westside clinic by severing their spinal cords.
While acquitting him of third-degree murder for the 2009 death of 41-year-old Karnamaya Mongar of Virginia, who died from a drug overdose during an abortion procedure at his clinic, the jury nevertheless found him guilty of a lesser charge of manslaughter. He was given three life sentences.
The Washington Post reported at the time:
Gosnell, in a dark suit and a maroon shirt, furrowed his brow and shook his head slightly but remained stoic when the verdicts were read in a packed Philadelphia courtroom just before 3 p.m. One juror appeared to cry. Prosecutors smiled in relief and later hugged colleagues.
The jury also acquitted him of murder in the death of another infant, known as Baby E, whom prosecutors had struggled to prove was alive after delivery. Judge Jeffrey P. Minehart previously dismissed three additional first-degree murder charges against Gosnell, each involving other infants.
Before the trial prosecutors were fairly certain that Gosnell had killed many more babies than he was charged for, but they simply did not have enough proof, so they didn’t pursue additional charges. When it was all said and done, however, they came to believe that Gosnell was one of America’s biggest serial killers.
Now, a new film set for release tells this grisly story, including how arrogant Gosnell was during the investigation and subsequent trial. And while the movie doesn’t take a hard pro-life stance – it’s not political – the Left is nevertheless terrified of the impression it will leave in the minds of millions of Americans who see it, especially now that there is a rock-solid conservative majority on the Supreme Court.
As such, the usual suspects – big tech, the mainstream media, and the Left-wing entertainment industry – are doing all they can to censor the movie, “Gosnell: America’s Biggest Serial Killer,” because, you know, they’re all about the First Amendment when it isn’t being used to skewer one of the Left’s sacred cows.
As Infowars notes, Facebook has already refused to allow filmmakers to advertise the film on their platform. And one of the more popular crowdfunding sites, Kickstarter, have refused them as well. In addition, National Public Radio (which is taxpayer-funded) also refused to carry ads for the film.
NPR’s problem with the ads? They won’t allow filmmakers to call Gosnell two things that honestly and truthfully describe him: An “abortionist” and a “murderer.”
Besides these censorship efforts, the filmmakers have also been stopped from showing the film in private screenings.

The Left is afraid of the truth about Gosnell and abortion

The film, directed by Nick Searcy, produced by Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer, and stars Dean Cain of “Superman” fame, is based on Gosnell’s 30-year abortion practice as well as the political media establishment that tried to cover up his crimes. It was announced in 2014, less than a year after Gosnell was convicted. It opened Friday, Oct. 12.
The story begins with Cain’s character, Philly police Det. James Wood, as he and fellow officers serve a search warrant for drugs and other paraphernalia at a building housing Gosnell’s clinic over suspicions of illegal prescription drug sales. As officers search the premises, Det. Wood and others detect a strong, foul odor – rotting flesh – from an office. Once they get inside, they make gruesome discoveries including parts of babies kept in jars. (Related: Patricia Heaton takes new role as pro-life activist for OneLife LA Rally.)
From there the film expertly captures the charged atmosphere that quickly built around the case: The legal questions, issues of race (Gosnell is black; Cain’s character is white and Catholic), pro-life, pro-choice, and other cultural, social, and political issues.
“Everyone needs to see the Gosnell movie, particularly young people,” noted Marjorie Dannenfelser of the Susan B. Anthony List. “I can’t recommend this movie more strongly. The Gosnell movie faces viewers with the brutality and inhumanity of abortion and it achieves this in a movie that looks as good as any Hollywood film. This movie will change hearts and minds about abortion. It needs to be available widely.”
Added Kristan Hawkins with Students for Life of America, “After watching the Gosnell movie, I’m angry, I’m sad, and I’m more motivated than ever to end abortion. Every American should watch GOSNELL. If pro-choice, they need to watch it and be able to defend their beliefs. If pro-life, they need to watch it and ask themselves why they aren’t active in ending this atrocity. This movie should be screened on every college campus in our nation.”
But of course, Americans will have to actually see it to know and understand its impact and why it’s so important at this point in our history. And the truth-hating Left is doing all it can to prevent that from happening.

Trump agrees with Obama Video

President Trump tweeted a video Tuesday evening of then-Sen. Barack Obama condemning illegal immigration while adding that the United States cannot let unvetted people enter the country.

In the video, which dates back to 2005, Obama said, “We are a generous and welcoming people here in the United States but those that enter the country illegally and those that employ them disrespect the rule of law and they are showing disregard for those who are following the law.” (RELATED: Pence: ‘Inconceivable’ Middle Easterners Not Part Of Caravan)
“We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented, unchecked and circumventing the line of people who are waiting patiently, diligently and lawfully to become immigrants in this country,” he added.

The president’s tweet comes as thousands of people are marching from Central America through Mexico with their end goal being the United States. (RELATED: DHS: More Than A Half Million People Tried To Illegally Cross The Southwest Border In FY2018)
