Steve Balich Editor Note:
If a regular citizen who is not above the law did any of the things that have already came out, that citizen would be in jail. The DeepState, FBI, NSA, DOJ, and others are making everyday citizens aware that there is 2 tiers in our legal system, and we citizens are at the bottom. America is being shaken by its foundation as the DeepState tries to remove president Trump and protect Criminals who are supposed to be defending the Constitution according to their Oath. Hillary Clinton above the law is the best example of the DeepState protecting its own.
The Muller Investigation should be called off by Jeff Sessions, but he may fear for his life or that of his family, making him inept. Sessions may be a part of the DeepState, and be doing his part in protecting everyone concerned. Sessions may be just indecisive when it comes to going after the truth when he knows it will hurt those he works with in the DeepState.
The 4th of July we celebrate our Declaration of Independence from the Tyranny of England. The Founder are looking down at the current conditions in the Country they gave everything to create with the our Constitution. They see the power of the States eroded to almost nothing, they see individual freedoms overseen by more and more laws and regulations, they see statues coming down because some group is offended, they see the feelings of a tiny few overpower the rights of the vast majority, they see an attempt to have a coup against an elected President by those who are supposed to protect him, and they see a society that has many giving into secularism leaving God. Some Democrats view being a Christian as being a problem.
We the people must understand the Media, and the Socialist part of the Democrat Party are the root of the problem. We can win by voting, and understanding the dog and pony show put on television is just that and does not reflect what the vast majority of people think.
Tom Fitton: FBI and DOJ Want to Protect the Mueller Investigation
On July 1, Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton appeared on “Fox and Friends” on the Fox News Channel to discuss Rep. Nunes’ call for testimony from 17 FBI, DOJ officials on government surveillance abuse.
The No. 1 goal of all governments historically is to control and dominate their own citizens. The more deceptively it can be done, the more complete and long-lasting the tyranny.
Police state totalitarianism went out with World War II. The "Gestapo" knock at the door in the middle of the night and barbed-wire detainment camps are history. But that does not mean we are not living under police state totalitarianism.
Modern tyranny has a new face. It is benevolent totalitarianism. Benevolent totalitarianism is an advanced stage of people control through mind control, mass psycho political manipulation and abusive regulations created under the color of "law" by alphabet soup government agencies and enforced by their regulators, who comprise part of the "standing army" of government the Founders feared and warned us about.
"Police power is the power of the state to place restraints on the personal freedom and property rights of persons (individuals) for the protection of the public safety, health, and morals..." – Black's Law Dictionary. This says that "public policy" is the federal government's monopoly of police power to manipulate, restrict or extinguish human liberty and property for the benefit of the state. This extends into legislating social relationships and even morality. This is the same cult that drafts the laws of the land that have reduced us to serfdom, all as "public policy" and "in the public interest," — modern inventions to conceal legal plunder.
The government is very jealous of its authority. Its authority is the control mechanism designed to ensure compliance and conformity. When backed by the propaganda of "public policy," "public interest" or "for the children," anything can be done under the color of law and the people accept it upon the assumption that law and justice are the same. The result is that the lack of distinction between law and justice has been destroyed. The epitome of plunder is the manipulation of the conscience to accept law and morality as being the same.
We are taught from an early age that government is an agent of good (morality), that it seeks the betterment of society and it only promotes policies that make life better for everyone. All public schools are government training grounds for this philosophy. The state builds its political power on deception and false pretense, finally leaving the people with no inner imperative to question or oppose the New Order.
The term "public policy" is a household term in America. Black's Law Dictionarydefines "public policy" as "community common sense and common conscience, extended and applied throughout the state to matters of public morals, health, safety, welfare, and the like..."
I really doubt that one person in a million knows that the term "public policy" is synonymous with government purpose and enforced with government power.
Police power is not limited and does not come about by due process but by usurpation and wrongful seizure of your mind and body through deception. Police power extends from the top of government to the bottom. It may be and sometimes is employed upon the top members of the political, social or corporate classes (Martha Stewart, Thomas Drake, Bunny Greenhouse, Paul Manafort) when they fall out of favor or expose government corruption, or to accomplish some greater end. But more often it is employed against the average citizen, and to great effect.
The Robert Mueller investigation is an example of police power in action. Unable to establish any links or collusion between the Donald Trump campaign and Russian government operatives, Mueller's investigation has turned into a form of Star Chamber where force and intimidation are being employed to "convince" people to testify and then they are charged with the non-crimes of making false statements.
These statements may or may not have been intentionally false. They may have been the result of faulty memory or a clarification of something previously said.
Mueller has charged Michael Flynn, George Papadopoulos, Richard Gates, Alex van der Zwaan and Manafort with the "crime" of making false statements to the FBI. In other words, no crime was found to have been committed before the investigation, but a "crime" was committed (created) as a result of the investigation.
As the Inspector General's report has shown, top brass at the FBI and Department of Justice likely committed crimes during both the Hillary Clinton email investigation and the Trump-Russia "collusion" investigation. This is police state tyranny as seen in Third World backwaters, not in constitution-based governments that profess to be "democracies" and based on the rule of law.
An acquaintance of mine, a business owner, is currently dealing with federal tyranny via the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA). After using OSHA's manual to defend his company against two baseless citations, the OSHA enforcer said, "You need to understand something. We can do this the easy way, or we can do it the hard way. If you want to do it the hard way, we will bury your company."
As the business owner stated, "When a prosecuting authority, with the resources of the federal government, uses (its) power to prosecute, guilt and innocence mean little. The accumulation of a lifetime can be burned away quickly as one tries to self-fund a defense."
It was this "prosecuting authority" employing threats against Flynn's children, along with the prospect of bankrupting legal bills, that prompted Flynn's guilty plea to charges of making false statements... statements evidence now show may not have really been false.
The U.S. Government has for many years been quietly deploying unregulated agency armies against its own citizens. Armed federal agents – outfitted as if they're raiding a terror house — have been "fighting crime" by raiding Amish farms and stores for selling raw milk, pig farms for growing the wrong color pigs, supplement makers for using customer testimonials in their advertising, children for selling too many rabbits and keeping them in cages that were a quarter inch too small, and magicians for using a rabbit in a show without having a "rabbit disaster plan" in place.
What I'm trying to tell you is, you are a part of the herd. The only way out of the herd is to first recognize that you are in it. What does this mean? It means that you are on one side and the government and its politicians and bureaucrats are on the other. No, they don't want you to know this or they would lose control — we have bigger numbers but massive propaganda makes the difference in the balance of power.
Our nation is in the midst of an invasion from within, and it's being carried out through mass deceit and uninformed consent and under the color of "law."
A
leading Republican in the General Assembly has filed a bill to put a sunset on
Illinois’ property tax laws. All of them.
House
Minority Leader Jim Durkin announced that he had filed legislation Wednesday
creating a sunset date for laws that enable local property taxes in Illinois.
If enacted, the entire property tax code for the state would sunset on July 1,
2019. It would remove the taxing authority from many of Illinois’ 7,000 units
of government.
The
bill, which is short by Springfield standards, comes months before a general
election.
Durkin
said his legislation would force lawmakers to work together to reform what he
called a broken system.
“The
property tax system in Illinois is a failure, and it is time to start over,”
Durkin said in a statement. “By setting a firm deadline for the General
Assembly, it will force the legislature to come together in a bipartisan manner
to find a compromise solution that will remedy this crisis and help bring
Illinois back.”
Lawmakers
aren’t scheduled to return to Springfield until Nov. 13, one week after the
general election.
Durkin
said that a sunset on a law is a good way to encourage lawmakers to revisit how
well it works.
“This
forces the General Assembly and stakeholders to review laws periodically to
ensure they are working properly or risk repeal,” he said.
He said
the bill will set a hard deadline for lawmakers to fix Illinois’ property
taxes.
“And if
we don’t do anything, property taxes would go away,” he told the crowd to
applause.
A
request for comment from House Speaker Michael Madigan’s office on the bill was
not immediately returned. Madigan, a property tax appeals attorney by trade,
has taken criticism from Gov. Bruce Rauner and many others for profiting from
the complex system of appealing assessments.
Illinois
has some of the highest property taxes in the nation. They were rated the
second-highest in the nation in an April report by
Attom Data Solutions.

Here's
the full text of the bill: AN ACT concerning revenue. Be it
enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General
Assembly: Section 5. The Property Tax Code is amended by adding Section 32-25
as follows: (35 ILCS 200/32-25 new) Sec. 32-25. Repeal. This Act is repealed on
July 1, 2019.
To understand this moment in history is to be aware of the present cross-current of economic and political reality.
It is difficult to think of history as happening today and every day with us in the middle of it. History always implies what happened in the past.
We were in a period of economic euphoria from 1982 at the beginning of the great bull market on Wall Street to the year 2000. Since 2000 we have entered a time of economic convulsion under a disguise of Greenspan and then Bernanke's rain of paper money and credit expansion.
This period of time from 1982 until 2008 was a time of the great illusion of economic prosperity. After a small blip on the radar screen of a slowing of credit expansion in 2008, which almost caused the world's economy to collapse, we have been on another upward ride in the stock market as companies buy their own stock to support asset prices. It has all been quite addictive and quite a fantasy.
More than any time in history, we have been in an era of paper money and a great and general deception of what is substance and what is myth. There is great confusion with the difference in financial assets and long-term material value.
This illusion has triggered an era when the basic economy has changed from industrial production to a financial economy. American industry has been changing from the production of things to the shuffling of paper assets and the promise of what might be.
Confidence game
The building economic and financial crisis is based on the illusions that computer numbers in a bank account and debt represent real wealth. People with big mortgages actually believe that they own their homes. Well, even the people that have their homes paid off still don't own them. Try not paying your property taxes and see what happens.
What creates the state of mind that a high stock value, or having paper money, is wealth? Paper money is always stable in the confidence building period because it can be exchanged for houses, farms, new cars and wars. Yes, wars would never happen except for paper money and credit. Hitler's panzer divisions were created with paper money exactly the same as the American military colossus. It was a paper money war.
Now we are in a paper money and credit world. We are in the final stage of history's greatest paper monetary era. As the great collapse progresses, even savvy people still trust financial assets. Men and women daily scramble to add more digital numbers to their bank accounts and pension funds. Even as they see their paper money inflated and depreciated they run faster to get more and more numbers which they believe are dollars which they believe are wealth and savings and retirement funds. It's a world class confidence game now collapsing.
Insiders, some central banks and a very small savvy group of individuals are quietly accumulating hard assets instead of paper ones. Gold and silver valued at low four figures in paper money are now on the bargain counter as history will record. This is the only counter-play to disappearing financial assets.
The gradualism of the collapse keeps the crowd asleep. As some are jolted along the way to find themselves impoverished — too late to recover... their good life is gone and their pomp and circumstance now as silent as a funeral march. They were just too busy being busy accumulating numbers in their bank accounts.
We are now in a worldwide paper money war. Some call it competing devaluations. It is an agonizing and constant process of depreciating and collapsing currencies. The advantage of the moment goes to the country which can inflate their currency the fastest.
Not who can exchange value, but who can gain temporary advantage with printing press money.
The U.S. was way out front, but China has learned and is catching up fast. In fact, the countries of the world's very survival depend on paper money that must and will depreciate.
Unfortunately, because it has been the reserve currency for world trade and banking, the world float is dependent on a diminishing dollar. This is the reality of international finance. Those who can see perceive a world afire. It's all about the end of the paper aristocracy system which has transferred the wealth and hard assets of the world to the elite with created money which cost them nothing.
We buy gold and silver for profit and security! It's the most permanent way to preserve assets no matter what the politicians do.
Remember, U.S. silver coins are still legal tender. Should we have a raw collapse in paper money confidence, no telling what you could buy with a silver dime... which is real money!
Americans have forgotten real money, but I suspect they would relearn in a hurry after a monetary shock.
I still like the gold and silver stocks. It's a good time right now to buy as we are coming off an inactive if not weak period in stocks and metals. Eighty percent of the time, action in the gold market is neutral or negative. This keeps the public out until the blow-off a few years away.
Have you noticed that gold is not tracking the dollar as it was? Since 2015, the dollar and gold have been moving closely with each other. This is new, good action for investors!
The next really big action that we look for will be the breakout of gold against all the currencies, as has happened in every instance in the past. We expect that within two years. That event will signal a strong gold bull market.
If you bought late and have losses, stay with the trend, high prices are coming. You're not spending your grocery money so stay with the trend until the top.
It's hard to know what the world will be like with gold at high four or even five figures, but if it holds together, we will take some profits and invest in the big stock market which I can assure you will be a black hole by then. There will be plenty of bargains that nobody will want.
Paper v. gold reasoning
Eventually, everybody will discover that paper money is dependent on politicians. Gold is dependent on no one and it is an international currency. No matter what language or culture, people will accept gold.
Governments and their politicians don't like gold in the hands of the people. This is true because when the people understand gold, there is no problem at all to see that paper money is the way to political and economic power over the people by politicians.
Now you understand why politicians will not touch the subject of debt slavery. Neither the public nor most private media will touch the subject. They don't want you to realize that all wealth flows to the creators of money, who not only get to use it first when it's most valuable, but who get to exchange it for real wealth before it's devalued as it gets used.
Unless you protect yourself with hard assets and items of real value that give you a store of wealth, you have nothing. Everybody should have at the very least 10 to 15 percent of their paper money "assets" in gold. Gold today is very cheap in terms of paper money. For many reasons in the coming months, we will be disgusted that we didn't buy far more gold with our political paper.
Stay with the major trend no matter the ups and downs. We now have economic crises daily, and we have economic uncertainty and economic instability. Of all people, you readers understand this.
Companies are dumping pension plans right and left. As you know, the big companies like Amazon, Uber and even General Electric (due to its reinsurance business mistakes in the past) have lost billions and billions of dollars. They have to dump their high costs or they are history. There is much, much more of this to come and it should be obvious to everybody.
And, as Bloomberg headlines flash red, Obrador is now de facto president as his main rivals have conceded:
MEXICO'S LOPEZ OBRADOR SET TO WIN AS MAIN RIVALS CONCEDE
And, adding to the concerns that AMLO may start rolling back energy privatization programs and issue more debt, is that his Morena party just won a majority in the Lower House:
MEXICO'S OBRADOR POISED TO GET MAJORITY IN LOWER HOUSE: POLL
The victory of AMLO, who suffered defeats in the last two presidential votes, will hardly come as a surprise, as has led by double digit numbers throughout this campaign. His popularity stems from his antiestablishment platform (sound familiar?) which has been riding a public revolt against entrenched corruption, rampant violence and an economy that’s failed to deliver higher living standards for the common man and especially the poor, which comprise about half of Mexico’s 125 million population. He also campaigned with promises for economic reform that has been underlined by a desire to freeze prices of gasoline in Mexico for 3 years, as well as a reduction of external investment in the energy sector.
AMLO has also promised to ramp up social programs and, like so many of his antiestablishment peers, has vowed to fund them without deficit-spending by eliminating graft, a claim which as Bloomberg laconically adds, "has been greeted skeptically by economists." He’s also promised not to nationalize companies or quit Nafta. Investors are worried however that he may cancel oil contracts signed as part of outgoing President Enrique Pena Nieto’s energy reforms.
* * *
The victory of a leftist in Mexico is a stark reversal for the Latin American nation which unlike most of its peers has not had a socialist leader in decades.
As Bloomberg notes, Lopez Obrador has promised to govern as a pragmatist. Still, his procession toward victory has alarmed many investors and business leaders, who worry that he’ll roll back privatization of the energy industry and push the country into debt by spending more on social programs. With the election outcome widely expected, there was little reaction in markets aside from the USDMXN which has enjoyed a relief rally, although as in the case of the Turkish Lira, many expect this will be short-lived as many anticipate Mexico's problems are set to worsen under the new administration.
What is more notable is that like so many other nations, Mexicans have also opted for change and turned their back on the establishment and the only two parties to have run the country in almost a century. There are plenty of reasons they might want to kick out the governing class.
“We need a complete transformation in Mexico,” said Sergio Oceransky, 45, as he voted at a polling station in central Mexico City. “We’re experiencing a tremendous political crisis that’s no longer sustainable.”
On the campaign trail, many voters say physical security was their top concern. A decade-long war on drug cartels has pushed the murder rate to record levels.
His predecessor, Pena Nieto, also started off on the right foot, opening Mexico’s energy industry to private investors and winning a reputation as an economic reformer early on. However, a surge in violence, and a string of graft scandals that dragged in the president and his family, Pena Nieto is ending his six-year term with some the lowest approval ratings in the history of the presidency. He will remain in office until December when Mexico's 5 month gap between elections and inauguration lapses.
And since both Obrador and Trump won on an antiestablishment platform, we look forward to them getting along just great.
(Natural News) The now-infamous “family separation” photo you see below, taken by John Moore and licensed by Getty Images, has become the emotion-infused rallying cry for fact-devoid Leftists to demand unlimited open borders that would flood the United States with illegals.
It has now emerged that the photo is “fake” in the sense that the girl wasn’t separated from her mother at all. Young girls cry for a million reasons: They’re sleepy, they want more ice cream, they don’t like the food, and so on. But the deceptive left-wing media claimed this girl in particular was crying because she was forcibly separated from her mother by U.S. Border Patrol.
That claim, we now know, is a complete lie.
But it fits the convenient narrative of the insidious Left — which cares nothing about actual facts — and so the photo has been widely circulated on Fakebook and even used to raise nearly $20 million in donations for pro-open borders front groups (see below). The people who donated money to the campaign were duped, of course. The photo is a “fake.” The girl was never separated from her mother. The entire fundraiser is fraudulent, fake news.
The father of the tearful two-year-old Honduran migrant girl who became the face of the “family separation” news coverage says that his young daughter was never actually separated from her mother when caught by U.S. Border Patrol. Instead, he says, his daughter and her mother are together in U.S. custody at “at a family residential center in Texas.”
Denis Javier Varela Hernandez, 32, told the UK Daily Mail that his wife Sandra, 32, had taken their daughter, Yanela Denise, on a dangerous journey to the U.S. on June 3 without telling him. They had since been in touch, he said, and he learned the two had been detained together but never separated.
Getty Images photographer John Moore took the famous photograph of Yanela Denise standing on the ground and looking up in tears while a McAllen, Texas, Border Patrol agent searched her mother next to a patrol vehicle.
The image spread like a California grassfire. Time Magazine used a cutout of the little girl on its recent cover, where she was depicted confronting President Donald Trump.
Multiple news outlets used the photograph as a symbol of the pain of families being separated by U.S. government officials. A Facebook fundraiser that used the photograph to solicit funds to help reunite families has already raised nearly $20 million, becoming the single largest crowdfunding campaign in the history of the social media platform.
Getty Images captioned the photograph by indicating that the mother and daughter had been “sent to a processing center for possible separation” (emphasis added).
Now, Hernandez says that his wife and daughter were never separated by Border Patrol agents and that they remain together.
Hernandez also told the Daily Mail that he did not support his wife Sandra’s decision to leave their home and travel through dangerous conditions to seek political asylum in the U.S.: “I didn’t support it. I asked her, why? Why would she want to put our little girl through that? But it was her decision at the end of the day.
“I don’t have any resentment for my wife, but I do think it was irresponsible of her to take the baby with her in her arms because we don’t know what could happen,” he told the Daily Mail.
He said she had talked about going to the United States for a “better future” but she did not say she had made the decision to take the 1,800-mile trip — paying a “coyote” smuggler $6,000 to take them.
Here’s a recent photo of the family riding in what appears to be a luxury vehicle, with the mother smiling and the daughter riding along:
Fakebook allows “fake” photo to raise $20 million, openly supporting a fraud while claiming to be cracking down on “fake news”
Facebook says it is in the midst of a fight against “fake news” on its platform, but has allowed activists to raise nearly $20 million for migrants using a photo that is incorrectly said to show a daughter being separated from her mother.
The fundraiser, “Reunite an immigrant parent with their child,” asks Facebook users to donate money to RAICES, a charity described by USA Today as “a Texas nonprofit that helps families with legal advice and translation services.
The donation page for the fundraiser uses a now-iconic photograph of a two-year-old girl crying as her mother is searched by U.S. Border Patrol. The mainstream media presumed that the girl and her mother were separated.
However, news broke Thursday that the mother and daughter were never separated, and were in fact in U.S. custody at a family residential facility in Texas.
Furthermore, it emerged that the mother had been previously deported in the U.S. According to her husband in Honduras, she left him and three other children in early June without informing him, paying $6,000 to a “coyote” smuggler to take her northwards so she could seek better economic opportunities.
The photograph, by John Moore of Getty Images, is real — and Getty only claimed that the mother and daughter had faced “possible separation.” However, the story the media and activists had woven around the image is not accurate.
Behind every Democrat agenda is a staged or “faked” narrative
Once again, we’re seeing how fakery and the engineering of false hysteria is the bedrock of everything Democrats and Leftists try to pull off. In every case of mass outrage or hysteria from the Left in recent memory, there are staged, scripted or fake elements that are carefully rolled out for the express purpose of deceiving the public.
Publicizing a photo of a girl who wasn’t separated from her mother — while presenting her as the literal poster child of children being separated from their mothers — is the very definition of fake news, and it’s the left-wing media that continues to push all this fake news while absurdly claiming to be fighting against fake news.
The “fake news photo” of this migrant girl is now emblazoned across the cover of TIME Magazine, once again proving how the news establishment is steeped in fake news and false insinuations meant to deceive the public. Here’s how TIME assembled a fake, Photoshopped montage that depicts this child crying and screaming at President Trump. This is fundamentally deceptive, dishonest and another damning example of fake news from a pathetic, left-wing media that has utterly abandoned any obligation to truthful reporting whatsoever:
If anything, this TIME magazine cover depicts the behavior of Leftists, who cry and scream at everything in sight, without justification or any actual facts. Leftism has collapsed into episodic derangement on demand, where the lunatic masses break down into mass hysteria exactly when they’re told, triggered by fake photos, fake news reports, fake staging and even fake “crisis” talent who are often filmed by news media to augment the emotional impact of tragic events.
Without fakery, the Left wouldn’t have any real news to report at all. Remember: Everything they report with coordinated focus is fake, staged, augmented, exaggerated or otherwise a theatrical production in one form or another. Read NewsFakes.com to see more examples.

Above, high-definition, 270-degree light projections transport the audience into the Sistine Chapel to learn about each major painting in ‘Universal Judgment: Michelangelo and the Secrets of the Sistine Chapel.’ Below, an actor highlights the election of Pope Clement VII, who commissioned Michelangelo to paint The Last Judgment above the altar, completing the Sistine Chapel we can now see today. Michelangelo’s Masterpiece: Show Sheds Cinematographic Light on Sistine Chapel
A look at ‘Universal Judgment: Michelangelo and the Secrets of the Sistine Chapel.’
Rachel Lanz
A young artist searches the shape of the Carrara marble, awaiting inspiration.
It is Michelangelo searching for David.
This scene opens a Rome cinematographic experience that immerses the audience into the mind of one of the greatest sculptors amid his journey of painting the Sistine Chapel.
Down the street from the Vatican, at the Auditorium Conciliazione, the famed sacred space is the focus of a one-hour, 270-degree projection laser show, “Universal Judgment: Michelangelo and the Secrets of the Sistine Chapel.” Marco Balich, chairman of Balich Worldwide Shows, who has experience producing more than 20 Olympic ceremonies, used his artistic and technical abilities to create this multimedia spectacle that takes the viewer “into” the Sistine Chapel.
Narrated by actors, the story of Michelangelo goes beyond David — when Pope Julius II, in 1508, commissioned him to paint frescoes that covered the Vatican chapel’s ceilings.
The audience follows Michelangelo flying across stage in his interior and physical struggle of painting the creation story and the Last Judgment in the eyes of the Renaissance artist on a 5,000-square-foot upside-down surface.
Simulated by Balich’s light projections, the animated paintings bring the audience’s gaze around the theater in order to explore the chapel in its completeness. Scripture readings, theatrical dancers and even a musical composition by Sting emerge to enhance the reminiscence of the fine details and history of each painting.
“It’s a way that young generations can be closer to a universal place like the Sistine Chapel,” said Barbara Jatta, director of the Vatican Museums. With scientific and photographic support from the Vatican Museums, the resulting production is a multisensory experience.
From God giving life to Adam through the animated touch of a finger to smelling the incense initiating a new conclave, the visitors see, hear and smell the history of the chapel truly come to life. “I was anxious before I saw it because I wanted it to be proper for a Vatican show,” Jatta admitted, referring to backing a private company to produce the show.
After seeing the show with her 14-year-old son, Jatta was pleased. “It’s a wonderful way to tell you about history, art and about faith. It’s a show. It’s not a documentary.” Her son found it evoked his emotions.
Such an experience of the senses and the emotions is exactly what the show’s creator intended.
“I wanted to challenge ourselves to deliver something that touches the heart,” Balich told the Register. “My desire was to apply technology and celebrate values that are dear to us.”
Balich explained his aim was to plant seeds of curiosity and growth. “We always look to celebrate the good side of life, to look up at values and inspire the notion of respect,” Balich said.
Since the grand opening in March, the show has hosted 20,000 Italian students through the “Artainment at Schools” initiative, an in-depth educational project to discover and experience the Sistine Chapel through live entertainment and innovative visual applications. The show is translated into nine languages and has sold more than 100,000 tickets. An agreement with the Vatican Museums is being discussed to include a joint ticket to visit the real Sistine Chapel, which continues to welcome 6 million visitors every year.
Tourist Josef Breher from Munich, Germany, found the show impressive. “It was a good impression of every single picture and the story behind it,” Breher said. “It gave heaven many opportunities to speak to the heart,” Annie Bonner from Washington state wrote in an online review. “I found myself wiping away tears.”
The real chapel’s beauty will continue to speak for itself. As Jatta said, “Nothing can replace the real one.”
Rachel Lanz is the journalism intern for EWTN in Rome. The show runs through July 2019.
