Adam Kinzinger ROCKFORD, Ill., Feb 13, 2017 – James Marter, Republican candidate for Congress in the Illinois 16th District, received an official endorsement from the Illinois Family Action organization, which deems the 2018 primary election critical for the direction of life, marriage and family issues in Illinois. There are two U.S. House primary contests, and in one IFA endorses the incumbent, in the other, the challenger to the incumbent, according to a statement released by IFA. In the 16th District, IFA endorses businessman James Marter who is challenging incumbent Rep. Adam Kinzinger, whose voting record has repeatedly disappointed IFA supporters. In the 18th District IFA endorses Congressman Darin LaHood, whose voting record on pro-family issues continues to be solid. “We support these candidates because they have articulated personal commitment to pro-life and pro-marriage principles, or have a proven public-voting record that demonstrates a commitment to these bedrock principles,” said the IFA organization in a statement. IFA further urged Illinois citizens to vote in the March 20 primary election and to “make sure you know where your candidates stand on life, marriage (defined by God), and religious freedom. Marter also received an endorsement earlier this month by Walsh Freedom, former Congressman Joe Walsh’s organization. According to the I Voter Guide website, www.ivoterguide.com, Jim Marter is deemed the Conservative Republican candidate in the Illinois 16th district primary race over Rep. Kinzinger, who scored as a moderate. The Marter for Congress campaign reached out to the Ottawa Times in early January to initiate and moderate a debate with Rep. Adam Kinzinger, but has yet to get any confirmation from his campaign. Rep. Kinzinger himself said on camera last October that “there will be debates.” Kinzinger also was a no-show at a Tea-Party organization invite debate in Ottawa at the Pitstick Pavilion. He also missed a debate in Rockford Hosted by the League of Women Voters on February 11th. And as yet to confirm for the candidate forum hosted by the Northern ILLINOIS Republican Women organization February 24th. Rep. Kinzinger was outspoken for the need for Debates and was granted them in his two bids in 2010 and 2012 to oust incumbents in Congress. Now he’s afraid to take on challenger Jim Marter.
