Batinick announces Plainfield legendary intersection
 logo art contest

PLAINFIELD – State Representative Mark Batinick (R-Plainfield) is calling on all artists and designers for a local art contest.

Many people don't realize that Plainfield has a very unique intersection,” Batinick said. “It’s the only place in America where the two most famous roads converge – the former Route 66 and the Lincoln Highway (Route 30).”

Batinick is hosting a creative contest to celebrate these legendary highways that come together in the community. He is sponsoring a public art contest for artists and graphic designers that captures the essence of the junction of Route 66 and the Lincoln Highway in Plainfield.

The prize will be $500 and the winning artwork will be the official emblem of the intersection. All entries should be submitted on any type of 11x14 medium fit for display. The artwork should be dropped off at Batinick’s office, which is located at 24047 W. Lockport Street in Plainfield.

The deadline for entries is Monday, April 30. For more information, contact Batinick’s office at (815) 254-0000.
