Republican Candidate for Congress Jim Marter to host Town Hall Meeting at Buffalo Range Shooting Park in Ottawa with Film Director Ron Maxwell
MORRIS, Ill., Mar. 6, 2018 – James Marter, Republican candidate for Congress in the Illinois 16thDistrict, will host a town hall meeting at Buffalo Range Shooting Park in Ottawa with special guest Film Director Ron Maxwell on Saturday, March 10 at 1:00 pm.
Maxwell is well-known for directing epic Hollywood films Gettysburg, featuring actors Martin Sheen, Tom Berenger and Jeff Daniels, and God’s and Generals.
“I will be there to hear second amendment advocates voice their concerns and opinions regarding Washington’s proposal elevating the ages for gun ownership and bans on bump stocks, which are being pushed by IL-16 Rep. Adam Kinzinger,” said Marter.
Last month, Marter held an invite-only event at a farm in Rockford to speak with a limited number of Second Amendment gun advocates to highlight the various reasons why district gun owners want their right to bear arms protected.
Marter is a member of the National Rifle Association, an ISR member and GunsSaveLife.com member.
Press invited to the event had a chance to see the tools of self-defense that second amendment advocates in Rockford demonstrated and discussed, including AR15s.
“We have excellent Police who are vigilant and trained to react to calls. They put their lives on the line every day.  But they can’t be everywhere immediately all the time.  Americans want their second amendment rights to protect themselves and their families,” said Marter.
“We can’t wait for Washington, D.C. to do something. Parents, Grandparents, and concerned citizens need to call their schools and find out what their school board members, principles, superintendents, local police and county police are doing to protect their kids in school. We have government buildings, airports, banks all protected with ARMED security. Our kids should be protected,” he said.
