A
letter to treasure
Goodings
Grove second-graders hear back from favorite Disney characters
Who says the art of letter writing is dead? Not Goodings Grove students!
In November, Kelly Mitchell’s second-grade class learned about the art
of writing by sending handwritten notes to their favorite Disney characters in
Florida.
On Feb. 21, the second-graders were delighted to hear back from Mickey
Mouse, himself.
“Oh boy. Thanks for all the swell letters,” he wrote in capital letters.
“It was so nice of you to think of me and my pals. Minnie and I were just
talking about how lucky we are to have such special friends like you!”
Students were so excited to hear back from their pal Mickey that they
insisted the letter be displayed for everyone to see.
“It was a magical day in our classroom,” said Mitchell.
Mickey not only took the time to send a handwritten note to the students
but also autographed 24 pictures so that every student could take one home with
them.
