Batinick to host free ID theft prevention seminar May 24

PLAINFIELD – State Representative Mark Batinick (R-Plainfield) will host an identity theft and fraud prevention seminar in Plainfield on Thursday May 24.

“Far too many Americans, particularly seniors, are targeted by identity thieves,” Batinick said. “I am hosting this event to help local residents find out how to protect themselves and what to do if they become one of the millions of victims of identity theft or fraud.”

The free seminar will be Thursday May 24 from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. at the Plainfield Township Community Center, located at 15014 Des Plaines Street in Plainfield. It is requested that those wishing to attend call Batinick’s office at (815) 254-0000 to RSVP.

Representatives of the Illinois Attorney General’s office will be on hand to provide strategies for protecting your credit card, social security and other personal financial information. Batinick encourages any local resident with concerns about identity theft, either for themselves or a loved one, to stop by the seminar.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Batinick’s office at (815) 254-0000 or repbatinick.com.
